fun filled family fantasticness!

mick's footy team [subiaco lions] won yesterday... which is always a great thing but nothing could beat our family bush walk and rock climb yesterday afternoon! we drove up to john forrest national park and just started wandering down the tracks... we walked through an old train tunnel where mick scared the girls with his boogy man voices... hilarious. but then we went off track and started climbing all the huge boulders surrounding the tracks... i was really amazed at how well the girls climbed the rocks... especially ling in her pretty dress and ballet flats! they climbed some massive rocks with very little assistance and confidently paraded around on top once the feat was accomplished! it makes me so proud of them, seeing them grow and be so confident in so many situations.
towards the end of the walk the girls had picked up sticks and were using them as magic wands, pointing to us and saying

"magic wand, magic wand, turn them into a..... "

and they were saying different things such as a tree or a house or a horse etc. etc.
at one point jordy said
"magic wand, magic wand, turn them into a funny running lady!
so we all started running crazily, laughing and carrying on... but then, from behind us came this lady... running... and she ran really funny... on her tippy toes, like a prancing pony! mick and i stopped, looked at each other and burst out laughing! to which jordy then continued with her magic wand trying to turn the lady into a leaf... coz she was still being a 'funny running lady'.... without even knowing it...... maybe you had to be there...
but so many laughs were had out there in the forrest... a few tears from prickle bush encounters... but all up just great family memories that will stay with me forever.

only 29 more to go... WHAT!!??!!

mother of the year...

i woke up this morning to the beautiful serene sound of rain on the rooftop...
it was 830am... the girls were playing nicely in the lounge room together... mick was next to me... life couldn't get better...

but... then i remembered it was friday... a school day! i jumped out of bed ready to do the fastest lunch-make in history when i was greeted by jordy... she was sporting THE worst fake sick voice in the history of the world

"i'm just so sick mum... *cough cough*..."

ok, jord, it clearly sounds like you have the black lung... pffftttt...nice try! but unbeknownst to you we've woken up too late anyway... so school's off!

mother of the year award goes to me, yet again!

we enjoyed a family day together indoors, having snoop dogg dance parties and eating bakery treats... like i said...
mother of the year.

but just look at those happy faces!!!

 {ling's fancy finger is a regular at lunch times}

{my crazy girls}

and my mick... also enjoying the day off with what the girls call a ---

"lemon cheese pork roll"

{mick loves the vietnamese pork rolls from the little vietnamese lunch bar across the road at girrawheen shops... one day, a while back, when we were trying to decide on what to get for lunch [quite possibly on a day just like today... yes, this is not the first sleep in incident] he suggested we get pork rolls... to which jordy yelled out...
"yes! lemon cheese pork rolls!!!"
classic jordy.
i never want to forget the moment when that happened}

man, i love my family!

yes... this is happening!

i'm so proud to say that i'm actually soldiering through this massive

{family scrapbook}

task, much to the disappointment of my anxiety that keeps trying to get in my way!!! two more down! yeh!

these are of Monique... [mick's youngest sister]... and Loganne... [mick's brother's first daughter]... or the girls' cousin... ... ...

more to come with hopefully less anxiety about the whole ordeal...

another family scrapbook page...

my fave little man... taco muchacho!

my new found obsession...

digital scrapbooking...

i am making a little flip book for the girls with a page for each of their cousins, auntys, uncles, nannys and poppys... and i have discovered digital scrapbooking is perfect for it, as i want to laminate it to protect it, but this way the pages wont be too chunky to do so.... like the one i attempted in the past! here is a little preview of what i have attempted so far....

so... three down... about four hundred to go!!!!!!! hahaha!

lashes and lipstick...

to my beautiful Jayme Leigh,

at the ripe age of four, you never cease to amaze me with your love and skill for makeup! rarely a day goes by when you don’t ask for me to do your makeup… or you don’t put any on yourself! today was no exception… but you also found some false eyelashes in my kit that you were determined to try! purely for my own amusement i agreed to glue them on for you… and here you are… with some fuscia lipstick to top off the look!

in your little handbags [that you just love!] i often find a lip gloss and a mascara as these are your favourite makeup items at the moment. you have proven to be quite skilled... mastering mascara without a mirror… something your average woman can't pull off… let alone a four year old!  unfortunately you haven’t become as proficient with taking off your makeup… often sporting ‘panda eyes’  in the mornings and pretty much all summer at the pool and beach!

you are such a natural beauty... with your long lashes, bluest of blue eyes, perfect little rose bud lips and long blonde curls... that makeup is wasted on you. i hope that i can help you see your true beauty. that you will love what you see in the mirror before you put on all that makeup!

i will always love you for you!

Let me paint you a picture...

...a picture of my life.

so many things in my life just happen. i often even find myself blurting out...

that. just. happened!

once these priceless moments are over i then find myself hoping that i'll never forget it!

to give myself a little credit, some of these moments are remembered... but unfortunately, most are not. i wish that i was more diligent in the past of keeping note of these things. my girls are becoming more and more grown up each day and i wonder where the time has gone... and exactly what happened in those priceless moments...

because of this, here i am. attempting a monthly blog... to document a little part of my life.

no pressure...

just once a month...
